Yerli Hava Reksi Balaken Zaqatala -

In the high, emerald folds of the Caucasus Mountains, where the borders of Balaken and Zaqatala blur into a single horizon of ancient beech forests, lived a legend that the locals called "Hava Reksi"—the Sky Dancer.

One summer, a fierce storm trapped a young shepherd and his flock on a narrow ridge near the Balaken pass. The clouds were so thick that the rescue teams couldn't see their own hands, let alone the path. The village held its breath. Yerli Hava Reksi Balaken Zaqatala

Suddenly, a piercing cry broke through the thunder. High above the gray veil, Reksi appeared. He didn't seek cover. Instead, he began a frantic, powerful "dance," beating his wings against the gale. He dove through the clouds and pulled up just above the shepherd, his golden feathers flashing like a signal fire against the dark sky. In the high, emerald folds of the Caucasus

He was a golden eagle of immense size, but to the people of the Northwest, he was more than a bird. He was the spirit of the wind. Every morning, as the mist rose from the Katekh waterfall, Reksi would emerge from the crags of the Zaqatala State Reserve. He didn't just fly; he performed a ritual. He would dive into the freezing thermal drafts, spiraling with a rhythmic grace that looked like a folk dance choreographed by the mountains themselves. The village held its breath

The next morning, the skies were a piercing, silent blue. The shepherd returned safely, and the legend of the Yerli Hava Reksi grew. To this day, if you travel between Balaken and Zaqatala and look toward the highest peaks, you might see a shadow circling in a perfect, rhythmic loop. The locals will smile and tell you not to worry—the Sky Dancer is simply keeping watch over his home.
