Aleks was no longer in the mansion. He was standing on a digital version of Alex’s street, looking up at a digital window that matched Alex’s real one.
A speech bubble appeared above Aleks’s head. It wasn't a strange icon for "Hunger" or "Social." It was a line of text in plain English: "Is the door locked, Alex?"
In the game, the camera began to zoom out, moving through the walls of the mansion, flying across the digital neighborhood, and then—impossibly—the screen showed a perfect, top-down 3D render of Alex’s own apartment building.
