In a world choked by a literal "gray haze"—a physical manifestation of doubt, depression, and fear—society has become stagnant. People move like ghosts, wearing gas masks not to breathe, but to hide their expressions of despair.

At the center of this haze stands a lone figure (the Protagonist). He is being hunted by "The Shadows," faceless soldiers representing every voice that ever told him he wasn't enough. By the final chorus, the Protagonist is glowing with an intense, white-hot energy. The Shadows dissolve because they cannot exist in the presence of such absolute certainty. He stands on a precipice overlooking the gray city, and as he lets out a final shout, the haze begins to lift.
