Dr. Alex Karev attempts to save a young patient named Gus, who has a rare blood type known as "Golden Blood". The only suitable donor, Frances, is a severely agoraphobic woman from London who is terrified of leaving her plane. Dr. Owen Hunt eventually convinces her to leave by showing her a video of Gus, but their transport gets stuck in heavy fog and a multi-car pileup.
