The film received mixed to positive reviews. While its high production value and direction were lauded, some critics found the screenplay to have plot holes or a preachy, melodramatic tone.

The story follows (Fahad Mustafa), a corrupt police officer who unapologetically accepts bribes to survive in a flawed system, despite being the son of an honest retired inspector. His perspective changes after a supernatural occurrence: the image of Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Quaid-e-Azam) begins vanishing from currency that has been obtained through dishonest means. Influenced by his father’s legacy and his activist girlfriend Jia (Mahira Khan), Gulab transforms into a "good cop" determined to dismantle the corrupt forces around him.
