Key Game Information Description Developer Valve Corporation Gameplay First-person puzzle platformer using the "Portal Gun" New Mechanics
Propulsion (Blue) and Repulsion (Orange) gels, Light Bridges, and Excursion Funnels Steam (PC/Mac), Xbox, and PlayStation
Chell and GLaDOS return to the surface to stop Wheatley before his incompetence causes the facility to explode. During the battle, Chell fires a portal at the moon , sucking Wheatley into space while GLaDOS regains control.
While trying to find an escape pod, they accidentally reactivate GLaDOS , the sentient AI Chell "killed" in the first game. GLaDOS immediately forces Chell back into a series of dangerous test chambers while she rebuilds the facility.
Surprisingly, GLaDOS decides to let Chell go, realizing that killing her is too much of a hassle. Chell emerges into a quiet wheat field on the surface, followed by her scorched Companion Cube. The Cooperative Campaign
Chell and Wheatley successfully sabotage GLaDOS's turret and neurotoxin supplies. They confront her and perform a "core transfer," replacing GLaDOS with Wheatley as the facility's central AI. However, the power goes to Wheatley's head; he becomes a megalomaniac, puts GLaDOS's "mind" into a potato battery (PotatOS), and sends both her and Chell deep into the facility's bowels.
Chell and PotatOS must work together to climb back up through the ancient, abandoned sections of the lab. Along the way, they hear pre-recorded messages from Aperture's founder, Cave Johnson , and his assistant, Caroline , revealing the origins of GLaDOS.
The "full story" of Portal 2 is an acclaimed sci-fi narrative that follows the protagonist, Chell, as she attempts to escape the massive, decaying Aperture Science facility.
