In Cave’s reimagining, Lazarus becomes "Larry," a modern-day figure stuck in 1970s New York City. The "resurrection gone wrong" follows Larry as he drifts from coast to coast, eventually ending up as a drug-addicted outcast in a jail cell. It’s a cynical take on fame and survival, delivered with a "wink and a smile" over driving, staccato guitar parts and lewd organs.
