Five years after the original film, Agent J must track down his retired, memory-wiped mentor, Agent K, to help fight a new threat, the shapeshifting alien Serleena, who is searching for the powerful "Light of Zartha." The duo discovers that the Light is actually a human woman, Laura, and they must protect her and safely send her off-world to save Earth from destruction. In a final twist, it is revealed that our entire universe is just one of many small lockers in a massive alien terminal.
