Makino (one Piece) Guide
Makino wiped a glass and leaned over. There he was: Monkey D. Luffy, grinning wide on a new "Wanted" poster. Her heart did a little dance of pride mixed with that perpetual, maternal worry. To the world, he was a "Fifth Emperor," a threat to the global order. To her, he was still the boy who hated vegetables and loved a good laugh.
The identity of the boy's father remained a secret she held close—a secret the world speculated was "that person," a certain legendary pirate who once called this harbor home. But here in the bar, titles didn't matter. Not "Emperor," not "Marine Hero," and not "Revolutionary."
"He's doing well, isn't he?" she whispered, more to herself than the child. Makino (ONE PIECE)

In Makino's world, they were just boys who needed a place to come home to. As the sun dipped below the horizon, she lit the lanterns outside. No matter how far the Straw Hat or the Red Force sailed, she would keep the bar open and the juice cold, waiting for the day the "treasure tab" was finally settled.
The bells above the door of chimed with a familiar rhythm. Makino didn't need to look up to know who it was. The salty breeze of the East Blue followed the visitor inside, carrying the scent of adventure and aged rum. Her heart did a little dance of pride
For years, Makino had been the quiet witness to history. She was the one who bandaged a young scraped knees while he shouted about becoming the Pirate King, letting him run up a "treasure tab" for his orange juice. She was the one who sat patiently with a hot-blooded Ace , teaching him the proper manners he’d need if he ever met the Red-Haired captain who saved his brother.
