The story follows a group of inexperienced National Guardsmen on a routine mission to deliver equipment to scientists in Sector 16, a remote New Mexico desert location once used for nuclear testing. Upon finding the research camp abandoned, they are quickly ambushed by a clan of cannibalistic mutants who reside in the surrounding rocky hills. Trapped and outmatched, the survivors must navigate a system of claustrophobic caves and mines to escape.
