Once the leather is clean and mostly dry, apply a high-quality leather conditioner. Apply a thin, even layer to the entire saddle. This restores the natural oils lost during cleaning and use.
Dampen a sponge slightly—never soak it, as too much water can damage leather. Apply a small amount of saddle soap and work it into a light lather using circular motions.
Remove the stirrup leathers and girth. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe away loose dust, hair, and mud. Focus on the underside where sweat and grime build up most. 2. Deep Clean with Saddle Soap
Pay extra attention to the areas where the stirrup leathers rub and near the buckles. 3. Wipe Away Residue
Avoid the seat if you prefer a "grippier" feel, as some conditioners can make the leather slippery. 5. Final Buffing
Never dry your saddle near a heater or in direct sunlight, as this causes the leather to become brittle.
