Measure the height, width, and depth available in your cabinet. High-horsepower units are often much larger and might not fit if you have a deep sink or limited cabinet real estate.
Most standard kitchen sinks use a universal 3.5 to 4-inch drain hole. Check if your current unit uses a 3-bolt mount or an EZ Mount system; matching the existing mount can make installation much faster.
