Drum Castle is one of Scotland’s oldest and most remarkably preserved tower houses.

: In 1323 , King Robert the Bruce granted the Royal Forest and Tower of Drum to William de Irwyn (Irvine) in recognition of his service as the King's secretary.

: The Irvine family held the estate for 650 years (24 generations) before it was gifted to the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) in 1975.
