The detectives are forced to piece together a cold case involving a bank robbery and a murder from a year ago. As they scour Yokohama for clues, they realize the client is a former university club member obsessed with a perfect crime. The "Private Eyes" eventually identify the client as Gaito Suehiko, a man believed to be dead. He is monitoring them via a sophisticated computer system, convinced that his former partner in crime is trying to kill him.

Genta, one of the Detective Boys, still has his wristband on while riding a roller coaster that exits the park boundaries. As the coaster reaches the "detonation zone," (who had been lurking in the shadows throughout the film) makes a dramatic entrance. He swoops in on his hang glider, snatches the wristband from Genta's arm, and tosses it into the air, where it explodes harmlessly. The Aftermath

With the threat neutralized, the group is reunited. Ran and the kids remain blissfully unaware of how close they came to death, complaining only that the detectives were "too busy working" to enjoy the rides. Conan looks on, exhausted but relieved, knowing that the "Private Eyes" successfully sang their requiem for the truth.
