Detective Conan: Episode 315
Conan eventually exposes Jiro Kuroki as the culprit. Kuroki drugged Hayakawa with sleeping pills and tied a noose around his neck in a bamboo grove. He then cut down surrounding bamboo to allow more sunlight to reach the tree with the noose, triggering rapid growth that eventually hoisted and strangled the victim. Kuroki's motive was a desire for recognition; he had been ghostwriting his master's recent paintings but was denied credit. Key Details & Reception : April 14, 2003. Broadcast Rating : 14.9%.
