Season 2 of Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS), often referred to by its updated title The Adventures of Batman & Robin , serves as a refined continuation that shifted its focus to include more collaborative hero work while maintaining its legendary "Dark Deco" aesthetic.

Following the first 65 episodes produced for syndication, the series transitioned to a 20-episode second season under a new banner. This change included a new opening sequence that prominently featured Robin alongside the Dark Knight.

While still maintaining the noir-inspired atmosphere, Season 2 is often noted for exploring more complex character dynamics. There was a visible effort to humanize and even attempt the redemption of villains like Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Two-Face.

Season 2 contains some of the most critically acclaimed individual stories in the entire DC Animated Universe (DCAU):

Production for this season was primarily handled by Dong Yang , though standout episodes were also animated by Studio Junio ("Baby-Doll," "A Bullet for Bullock") and Jade Animation . Key Episodes & Story Arcs
