The 9th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (9 RAR) was a distinguished light infantry unit raised in 1967, notable for its service in Vietnam and its later merger to form the 8/9 RAR. Known as the "Death Battalion" during the Vietnam War, the unit is remembered for its significant role in conflicts like Operation Goodwood.
