The story follows (Andrew Garfield), a hard-working construction worker and single father who lives with his mother, Lynn (Laura Dern), and his young son. After falling behind on mortgage payments, the family is brutally evicted from their long-time home by Rick Carver (Michael Shannon), a ruthless real estate broker working for the banks.
