The first tapestry, inspired by the 1997 film , depicts a pivotal scene where the protagonist Ashitaka soothes his cursed arm in a forest pool.

The unveiling was broadcast live on YouTube, drawing over 14,000 viewers , making it the most publicized "fall of the loom" in history. It was attended by His Excellency Junichi Ihara , the Ambassador of Japan to France. The Broader Project: A Meeting of Cultures

The (fall from the loom) of the first tapestry in the series "The Imagination of Hayao Miyazaki in Aubusson Tapestry" occurred on Friday, March 25, 2022 . This monumental event, held at the Cité internationale de la tapisserie in Aubusson , marked the completion of the first piece in a prestigious partnership with Studio Ghibli to translate Miyazaki's cinematic world into the 600-year-old tradition of Aubusson weaving. It is a massive work measuring 5 meters in height and 4.60 meters in width (approximately 23 m²). The first tapestry, inspired by the 1997 film

Hand-woven over 11 months by the Atelier Tapisserie Guillot, it required meticulous translation from a moving, animated frame to a static, textile masterpiece.

The full collection is planned to include works from: Princess Mononoke (Completed March 2022). Spirited Away (Completed January 2023). Howl’s Moving Castle (Completed 2023). Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Estimated 2026). The Broader Project: A Meeting of Cultures Displayed
